Wireless CSNET Configuration
Windows Vista

The instructions are for Windows Vista, for other operating systems please visit the Systems Group Page at http://system.cs.odu.edu/.

Configuring the Wireless Network Connection:

  • Go to Start->Network
  • Click on the "Network and Sharing Center" button
  • Click on the link on the left "Set up a connection or network"
  • Choose "Manually connect to a wireless network" and click Next
  • Enter wcsnet for Network Name, choose WPA2-Enterprise for Security type, choose AES for Encryption type and then click the Next button
  • Click on Change connection settings
  • Click the Security tab, make sure authentication method is set to Protected EAP and click on the Settings button
  • Uncheck "Validate server certificate", make sure Secured password is chosen as the authentication method and click the Configure button
  • Uncheck "Automatically use my Windows logon name" and click OK
  • Click OK out of the other Windows and then click on your Wireless adapter and choose to connect to wcsnet.
  • A box will pop up asking for additional information to connect, click on it.
  • A window will pop up, enter your CS login and password, leave the domain blank.  Click OK and you will be connected to the wireless network.
