I helped manage Internet services and small team of system administrators, web developers and consultants. Daily routines involved designing and administering Oracle databases, Unix and Windows servers for users at multiple sites. Unix system administration would include: Solaris, Unix Ware, and Linux. Network (TCP/IP) administration experience including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of routers, hums, switches, LAN analysis tools, and network service daemons. I some understanding of Sendmail, Samba, Bind (DNS), Apache, mailing lists and Java. I also learned an in-depth understanding of computer network security concepts, with considerable experience configuring and maintaining firewalls and routers.
